Role brief

remoteroles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • Set up and remove employee accounts across the SaaS tools, making each start and departure process reliable
  • Coordinate device purchasing, MDM setup, international shipping, upkeep and responsible recycling
  • Apply encryption, activation-lock and compliance checks with the Head of Security to keep device protections current
  • Reconcile access logs, serial numbers and license totals, correcting errors before they affect audit records
  • Revoke departing employees’ access, arrange equipment returns, manage IT vendors and contracts, and respond to staff requests across time zones

What you bring

  • At least two years in technical support or IT operations, such as systems administration or helpdesk work
  • Hands-on familiarity with device-management systems, Google Workspace administration and user account controls
  • A sound grasp of device protections, including encryption, activation locks and compliance checks
  • Strong written English and the ability to manage several open requests without losing track

Who this fits

This remote role suits someone who takes ownership of IT processes and maintains careful records while supporting staff across time zones. You’ll work with the Head of Security and People Ops, while running the systems work yourself.

From the employer

About Dash0

Join Dash0 and help us define the future of observability. We are OpenTelemetry-native, building a delightful, simple, and AI-centric platform that eliminates vendor lock-in and meaningless toil. Shape a product developers love, with transparent pricing and built-in cost control.

Dash0 is an OpenTelemetry-native observability platform growing fast, and the infrastructure that keeps our team operational needs to be as reliable as the product we build. As our Junior IT Administrator, you'll own the full device and access lifecycle — from a new hire's first laptop to an employee's final offboarding — and build the systems that make it repeatable at scale.

This role exists because we've outgrown ad-hoc IT. We need someone who takes genuine ownership: provisioning accounts, enforcing endpoint security, maintaining audit-ready records, and keeping our SaaS stack under control. You'll work closely with our Head of Security and People Ops team, but the systems work is yours to run.

It's a foundational role with real scope. The processes you put in place today will scale with the company for years.

What You'll Do

  • Provision and de-provision accounts across our SaaS stack for every new hire and departure, keeping onboarding repeatable and offboarding complete.

  • Manage the full device lifecycle: hardware ordering, MDM enrollment, international logistics, maintenance, and responsible recycling at end-of-life.

  • Enforce endpoint security policies, including disk encryption, activation lock, and device compliance checks, coordinating with our Head of Security to keep standards current.

  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready records of who has access to what — catching and resolving discrepancies in serial numbers, license counts, and access logs before they become compliance issues.

  • Execute end-to-end offboarding by revoking access across all systems, coordinating hardware retrieval, and ensuring nothing slips through.

  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for IT services and hardware insurance, including invoice auditing and service forecasting.

  • Support employees across time zones with clear, prompt communication on IT issues, hardware needs, and access requests.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in IT support, IT operations, systems administration, or a technical helpdesk role — ideally at a startup or scaleup where you owned processes end-to-end rather than following a playbook.

  • Hands-on comfort with device management tools, Google Workspace admin console, and user management.

  • Good understanding of endpoint security concepts (disk encryption, activation lock, device compliance policies); you don't need to be a security engineer, but you should know why these matter.

  • Strong attention to detail and comfort maintaining accurate records. You notice when a serial number, license count, or access log doesn't add up.

  • Clear written communication in English; comfortable coordinating across time zones with employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Comfortable managing many concurrent tickets/threads without dropping any of them.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with a specific MDM platform such as Jamf, Kandji, Fleet, or Intune.

  • Exposure to SOC 2 or ISO 27001-style access review and audit processes.

  • Basic scripting skills for automating repetitive provisioning or reporting tasks.

  • Experience in a high-growth startup environment.
