  • Help plan site readiness, including writing implementation plans and visiting locations when needed
  • Advise contractors on design drawings and work requirements during installation and disposition activities

  • Knowledge of FAA site construction and installation requirements, along with FAA operational risk practices

Who this fits

This role suits someone comfortable working independently and with a small team while meeting a demanding installation schedule. Expect substantial travel, around seventy-five percent of the time, and on-site work at radar locations. The position is remote in the United States.

From the employer

As one of Leidos’ oldest and largest programs supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the NAS Integration Support Contract (NISC) Program is seeking a qualified professional to support the FAA’s Brand-New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) initiative—specifically the Radar Surveillance Replacement (RSR) Program Office (AJM-41)—by serving as an RSR Field Engineer on the program office’s implementation and disposition teams. The selected candidate will support installation and disposition for the RSR PO, at some of the nation’s busiest and most critical airports.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Represent the PO at RSR sites, executing to an aggressive multi-site schedule.
  • Serve as an RSR subject matter expert (SME) to the RSR program office project, implementation, and engineering leads.
  • Participate in final planning and site preparation, including development of site implementation plans and site visits as required.
  • Provide onsite installation/construction consultation supporting implementation and disposition activities, including advising contractors on requirements based on design drawings and the statement of work (SOW).

Travel Expectations

  • Travel is expected to be high 75% of the time.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience, or additional years of relevant experience may be considered/accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with research, design, and development of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Ability to perform at a high level independently and as part of a small team, while meeting an aggressive installation schedule.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality maintenance practices during RSR implementation.
  • Professionalism representing Leidos to FAA customers, consistent with delivering “best of the best” support.
  • Hands-on field experience on one or more Radar systems in the active NAS.
  • Understanding of FAA operational risk management practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FAA construction/installation requirements at RSR sites.

NOTE: ►Please be advised that during the interview, you will be required to keep your camera on, and your interviewer will be taking your picture for identification purposes if an offer letter is extended to you.
