Who this fits

From the employer
Wpromote x Giant Spoon is looking for a Content Engineer to design, build, and continuously improve the AI-powered systems behind modern content production. This is an AI systems and workflow engineering role—not a traditional copywriting or content creation role. You’ll report to the Associate Director of Content Operations and help clients create better content faster by bringing together human judgment, brand intelligence, performance insights, and modern AI-powered workflows.
You’ll own the systems that move content from initial insight through final delivery. You will design, build, test, document, and continuously improve AI-powered production workflows that enable our teams to create high-quality content at scale. You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of clients and industries, quickly learning new audiences, business models, brand voices, and regulatory considerations.
You Will Be
- Designing end-to-end AI-powered content production workflows spanning research, ideation, strategy inputs, briefing, drafting, optimization, editing, quality assurance, repurposing, and delivery
- Building scalable content systems across a portfolio of approximately 1–6 clients. You will collaborate with Content Marketing and Digital PR managers to translate business goals and channel strategies into automated, repeatable workflow pipelines.
- Leveraging your strong editorial background not to write content yourself, but to define quality benchmarks and build automated guardrails, brand alignment checks, and evaluation rubrics.
- Translating each client’s positioning, brand guidelines, tone, voice, and editorial standards into prompt logic, system parameters, and evaluation criteria with high accuracy.
- Building workflow infrastructure through reusable prompt chains, automated agents, evaluation criteria, and editorial guardrails that improve speed, consistency, quality, and scale across accounts
- Evaluating AI-generated work for accuracy, originality, relevance, bias, brand alignment, and editorial quality before it reaches a client or audience
- Engineering workflows that ingest complex source materials, performance data, and research to feed structured inputs into production systems.
- Identifying friction in content production and building low-code/automated solutions (e.g., via n8n, Make, Zapier, or API connections) that eliminate manual labor and scale throughput
- Testing emerging AI models and content technologies, documenting what works, and helping establish responsible best practices across the organization
- Managing multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced agency, consultancy, publishing, or in-house marketing environment
You Must Have
- 2-3 years of experience in copywriting, content marketing, editorial, content strategy, or a related creative discipline. Note: This background is required so you can accurately judge quality, identify flaws, and program strict editorial rules into AI systems—not because you will be writing copy manually.
- Demonstrable artifacts showing end-to-end workflows you have built, agent architectures, prompt logic, automation trees, or output evaluation frameworks
- Exceptional command of language, structure, grammar, storytelling, and persuasive communication
- Experience designing evaluation criteria (evals), guardrails, and quality-control processes to programmatically test AI output against strict brand and stylistic standards.
- Hands-on experience building multi-step automated content workflows, custom AI agents, or prompt pipelines using tools like Make, n8n, Zapier, OpenAI Assistants/APIs, Claude, or custom GPT frameworks—moving beyond simple chat-based assistance.
- The ability to explain how you prompt, evaluate, edit, and improve AI-assisted work, including where human judgment must take over
- Working familiarity with analytics, SEO, keyword research, and social listening platforms, including tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Semrush, and Hootsuite, with the ability to integrate performance inputs directly into automated workflows.
- Strong working knowledge in creating repeatable content workflows, templates, prompt systems, or other tools that improve quality and production efficiency
- Strong client-facing communication, presentation, collaboration, and feedback-management skills
